World experiences in preceptorship in medical undergraduate education: an integrative review

Abstract: Introduction: The preceptor, as the physician who facilitates teaching-learning process in practice settings, is essential for service-training undergraduate medical school. importance of these professionals training new physicians highlights need to understand preceptorship activity from a education perspective. Objective: To verify, scientific literature, global experiences Method: Integrative literature review using standardized descriptors following databases: LILACS - Latin American and Caribbean Literature Health Sciences, MEDLINE Online System Analysis Recovery Medical SciELO Scientific Electronic Library Online, between 2009 2019. articles was carried out thematic category technique. Results: search databases resulted 274 studies, which 23 were analyzed discussed full. Detailing systematized into two categories: intrinsic extrinsic aspects exercise educational strategies used by preceptor. Conclusions: analysis indicates students’ actions together with preceptors acquisition professional skills. A critical factor success monitoring students preceptor’s ability assume role educator, order see their uniqueness integral development. Therefore, significance preceptors’ qualifications becomes more evident.
